Fat Frog's New Approach
25/08/2010

Fat Frog is evolving; we're changing the way we work and the way our services are delivered to clients. We're not just about design, we're about giving our clients a wealth of experience, diverse and targeted solutions and seamless project management. Which is why over the last year we've joined forces with some of the leading experts to give a smarter range of options to our clients. We've upped our research and identified new tools to meet the needs of clients, this has resulted in a comprehensive offering that delivers exceptional value for money .

Earlier this year, Fat Frog were approached to build the website for a brand new Hotel based in Surrey called, Brooklands. Working in partnership with London consultancy Bark Design, we delivered a flawless project which incorporated a number of features. The requirements, from the Art Deco themed hotel, meant that the new website needed to give potential customers a sense of the unique personality that sets Brooklands apart from other hotels in the region. We felt it was important that the new site not only delivered information, but would also strike a relationship with the target audience. With this in mind we developed a site that reflected the unique aspects and interior features of the hotel’s style and comfort. We also put a lot of emphasis on the interactive journey for the customer that meant booking a room was never more than one click away. The project has proved to be a massive success, with 10,000 unique customers visiting the site in it's opening month and a total number of bookings that exceeded all expectations.

Teaming up with specialist partners has increased our capabilities to deliver a new level of high quality projects. So when Imprima, a London based financial communications firm approached us to design and build their website we didn't think twice about asking online marketing agency  Silverbean to look at a thorough search engine strategy for our client.

Working together with Silverbean and freelance copywriter, Jamie Warde-Aldam, we set out designing and building a site that would position the business as one of the leading companies in it’s field.

The site had to achieve several objectives, including the need to engage with different types of unrelated audiences whilst looking clean, functional and easy to navigate.

Managing Director Stephen Blanks says, “we really listen to what our clients want and what they are looking to achieve before we even build a website. This includes understanding the unique culture of their brand, their market and the experiential journey that they want their customers to take through the site. This process provides the ideal foundation in creating perfect online environments that build relationships with a client’s audiences. It also enables us to recommend, where applicable, the right niche expertise in the partners that we put forward. This is a very important component of the overall offering to our clients. We do not believe in being a jack of all trades, instead we concentrate on what we are really good at which is designing and building websites that get delivered by strong project management.”

Meredith Foster, Imprima’s Marketing Manager commented, “Fat Frog really took the time to get to know our business and the markets that we operate in. Their ability to understand our needs and propose valuable ideas and solutions resulted in a much clearer and functional website structure. This enables us to deliver concise, relevant information to our prospects and clients.”

The new site was also one of the first clients to take advantage of using ‘EVO’, Fat Frog’s new content management system.  The new system has many powerful features that allow clients to add not only pages, but also new navigation menus, upload video and much much more. EVO has already received rave reviews from clients who call it “the easiest and most powerful CMS they have ever used”.

Both Brooklands and Imprima have been huge successes, which is predominantly down to the way the projects have been run and the level of commitment we have in understanding each individual client.
